The Arctic sea ice is melting. This programme shows the importance of this ice to the animals who live there. We visit the Svalbard archipelago, a world that is in danger of disappearing.  Climatologists expect the Arctic to be completely icefree as early as in 2050 if environmental toxins continue to be released into the atmosphere at the present rate.This programme focuses mainly on the seals, which are the first to suffer as the icy platform melts away beneath them.
